Using a limited palette of cadmium red and yellow with prussian blue, Regale, blends the colors into a broad and subtle range of greens and brown, stained through the surface, creating a uniform texture; the background becoming the foreground.

Overlaying groupings of figures in red wax pencil on top of a white opaque painted background (at right), resembling vertical markings, represent both the new seedlings in spring and the sudden outpouring of people across the grounds, colored by wildflowers and the reflection of the sky in ponds and creeks.

This interplay of applying paint in layers directs the attention across the surface, developing a depth that marks the transition towards vibrant compositions and abstract impressionism.

Balance is achieved through careful placment of complimentary colors to manipulate and define individual fields into a cohesive composition.
