Reeling from the vitriol of the presidency and the infighting amongst families and friends, this work reinforces that we can unite on common causes despite our disparate ideologies.

Come Together places the viewer overhead, above boundaries rendered in green and purple tones applied to the canvas, resulting in a balanced and blended background.

The pigment of the chalk pastels is pressed into the weave of the canvas with my fingertips, and is manipulated with brushes and water to fill the indentations; staining the surface and providing a uniform surface.

The representation of people is illustrated in the application of melted red and blue wax markings applied to the underlying chalk layer. Black outlines surrounding each grouping of figures are the result of mixing wax onto loose pigment. The final layer of pastel was applied to further define the boundaries and the composition.
