Bricolage I signifies a profound shift towards abstraction, where materiality becomes a tangible expression of artistic intention. The palette employed is a direct continuation of the colors and textures from preceding works, instilling continuity and a history within my creative process.
In crafting this piece, I meticulously arrange these forms into a balanced composition. The shapes are largely dictated by the hardened state of the paint. This inherent rigidity juxtaposes the fluidity of my method, as the malleable paint is continually reworked, draped, and layered over the canvas.
As I manipulate the paint, the canvas evolves into a multidimensional landscape, where the tangible and the abstract coalesce. The interplay of light and shadow on the textured surface adds depth; the material and form transcending traditional boundaries.
This work elicits a contemplation of the material and the abstract timelines of past and the present.
