I began these paintings after a devastating injury at the end of last year that took months to recover from. It was one of those life-changing moments that forced me to rethink and realign my goals and endeavors. As I reflected on what lay ahead, I began painting.
All of my works are self-referential and optimistic, and these share that perspective, capturing the first light of day when the possibilities are endless and searching and finding the path to lead by. I believe that we all wonder and question if we're on the right path and are constantly looking for guides to realign or reaffirm ourselves.
Each landscape is carefully defined with vivid blues layered atop a textured ground extending to the horizon. The paintings range in size and capture a depth and order that are captivating and introspective to experience in person.
